Spore Creature Creator Hands-On
IGN got some hands-on time with Spore's Creature Creator and recorded a 12-minute demonstration. While Spore won't be available until September, the Creature Creator will be released June 17. Any creatures you create with it will be usable in the game. Read more

The Florida Supreme Court has found Jack Thompson guilty on 27 of 31 charges of professional misconduct (21 counts from the GTA lawsuit, 4 counts from the Bully lawsuit, and 2 non-game related charges). There will be a disciplinary hearing on the first week of June. Read more

Grand Theft Auto IV for the PS3 and Xbox 360 sold over 6 million copies in its first week and 3.6 million on day one. This equates to a worldwide sales value of $500 million after one week and $310 million on release day, which is a new all-time sales record for any form of entertainment, including movie industry. EA is giving the PC version of Mass Effect a SecuROM protection which updates online for every ten days. EA says that their servers are also ready for the beating. Take-Two is suing the Chicago Transit Authority who pulled $300,000 worth of Ads prior to the release of GTAIV after fox news made some comments. Take two is suing on the basis that its free speech and contractual rights. My fox Chicago takes credit for taking down the ads by targeting disenfranchise African Americans to give their opinions on the ads. Despite GTAIV hype about causing poor attendance to the film Iron Man the movie did very well at the box office this weekend. The Sega game also did well by ranking #2 on GameFly's most rented list for the week. Read more

Possibly due to (rumored) discontent with the ESA's current president, Mike Gallagher, a number of other publishers have also decided not to attend E3, and Activision/Vivendi have even terminated their membership in the organization. id Software, however, has admitted uncertainty regarding whether or not it wishes to attend.
