In the Super Smash Bros. series
Bob-ombs are recurring items in each installment of Smash Bros games. Bob-ombs can be picked up and thrown at others for massive damage. After a while of not being used, a bob-omb will start walking around with a lit fuse, exploding to anyone in touches, or until the timer runs out. Bob-ombs also appear as a collectible trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
In the Paper Mario series
The Koopa Bros. fortress is home to many bob-ombs found in the game. They were captured by the Koopa Bros. and used to help protect the fortress from infiltrators. Mario and his partners find Bombette, a pink, female bob-omb in a jail cell with other bob-ombs who were caught disobeying orders. Bombette quickly gains Mario's trust and becomes his partner for the rest of the game. Bombette can use her explosive body to destroy cracked walls and rocks, and very useful against ground enemies in battle. Bob-ombs appear as enemies throughout the Koopa Bros. Fortress. They have about 3 hp, but as soon as they get attacked, they'll light on fire and explode next to Mario. Direct damage to a bob-omb that has it's fuse lit will cause damage to the attacker as well as destroying the bob-omb.
