Cactuars are one of the staples of the Final Fantasy series. They are small, Cactus-like characters that are in a permanent running-like state. Though some see this as looking like a backwards swastika, a symbol of hate, it's actually supposed to be a manji, a symbol of universal harmony. Oops.

Their trademark attack, 1000 Needles does 1000 points of damage by firing 1000 needles at the target. It can often be absorbed with Blue Magic

It is among the top tier of Final Fantasy staples, right up there with Moogles and Chocobos. Less prominent iconic creatures include Cait Sith, Tonberry and Moombas.
