The Capcom Five is a name given to 5 games that Capcom promised to give to the Nintendo Gamecube. They were all announced as exclusives, but eventually most of them were ported to the PS2. The games:
- P.N.03 (Not ported - sold poorly on GCN)
- Dead Phoenix (Cancelled)
- Resident Evil 4 (Ported to PS2)
- Killer 7 (Became multiplatform release)
- Viewtiful Joe (Ported to PS2)
According to some reports, Nintendo allowed Viewtiful Joe to become a multiplatform title, under the condition that Resident Evil 4 stay a GameCube exclusive. Of course, this didn't pull through, and RE4 was ported to the PS2.
[edit] Legacy of Capcom Five
The Capcom Five, in the long run, will be seen as a revitalization of Capcom, spawning a new franchise in Viewtiful Joe series, reviving a dead series (Resident Evil), and indirectly giving birth to Clover Studio, the developer behind Okami.
