CastlevaniaRL is a roguelike game with a vampire theme. It is a work of fan fiction, set in the same universe as the Castlevania series of video games, analogous to how DoomRL is set in the Doom universe.

It is a Java game, available in two user presentations; its console mode depends on the Java Curses library and thus does not readily run on any platform except Microsoft Windows and one form of Unix: Linux on the Intel x86 architecture; on the other hand it has a graphics mode built over the Swing library, which allows the game to run on all official Sun VMs.

Its author, Santiago Zapata, began programming the game for a contest in 2005. Today (2006) it is a stable game and has a graphical user interface.
