Good place to get %healing/%mana food - Farm the Crypt in the Catholic Church for Royal Tables
Great spells - The elemental AOEs given to you if you go the paladin route. They do a large amount of damage to all creatures sensitive to that element which are in view. This is great for bosses (not having to aim at them) and pretty good for grinding. Go to a relatively easy level and round up all the mobs you can and fire for quick exp.
Warning - If you beat The Dark Lord boss, it will raise the levels of all creatures in the world to 55+. So if you want to complete quests at an easier level, hold off on dropping this bad boy.
