The basic formula of helicopter games has always been to blow up stuff, rescue hostages, and try not to get blown up in the process. It's worked since the days of Choplifter, and it still applies today. Chopper Attack was a first-generation Nintendo 64 game, picked up by Midway and published in North America well into the console's life, just because they could. When controlling the chopper, you are at a fixed elevation at all times, unless you ride alongside higher terrain, which will push you up as long as you are over it. The levels vary in size and crowdedness, sometimes topped off with huge bosses.
