BioWare and Mythic to merge
EA is merging their two top role-playing game developers, BioWare and Mythic, into one massive RPG group, with BioWare's co-founder Ray Muzyka taking the lead and Mythic's Mark Jacobs leaving. Read more



Bethesda's parent company now owns id Software as well
ZeniMax, the parent company of Fallout 3 developer, Bethesda Softworks, has just purchased id Software. In their press release, ZeniMax has stated that they expect id Software to continue operating as before, and don't expect any management turnover. Read more

Ethics Organization of Computer Software Bans Rape games
Since feminist in western countries were complaining about Illusion's Rapelay 3 years after it's release, Japan's Ethics Organization of Computer Software has banned rape based games. Rapelay was released legally on the Japanese market. The group is beginning to help companies ease the transition into production of other erotic games. Unlicensed rape games are still legal. Microsoft announced a new xbox 360 controller called Natal which has motion control. Kojima productions showed off their new game Metal Gear Solid: Rising, featuring Raiden.
