The Devil May Cry series of video games are set in the modern day, developed by Capcom and created by Shinji Mikami. Originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom's Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry has been cited as the beginning of a sub-genre of action games by the name of Extreme Action.

The Devil May Cry series has become a large property spawning not just numerous video games, but also various anime, manga, and books. Recently, however, there has not been much more revealed in the world of Devil May Cry, or "DMC." The most recent update was the release of Devil May Cry 4 on the PC.

Storyline

Devil May Cry 3: Dante, half demon son of Sparda and Eva, first decides to become a devil slayer, but most go on a mission to stop his brother and lower the castle of hell.

Devil May Cry: Rumored to take place 2 years after DMC3, Dante finds himself in his shop when he is attacked by Trish, who challenges him to take on Mundas at the great castle Dante's father sealed him in. Now Dante must defeat Mundas to save the world.

Devil May Cry 4: Dante finds himself on a mission in the island city of Fortuna, to kill a priest. The new protagonist, Nero has attacked Dante, just trying to figure out what's going on. Has Dante become an evil killer of humans, or is there more to it?

Devil May Cry 2: The last installment in the storyline of the series, Dante finds himself an older, less cocky devil hunter. When his help is required to stop an organization with the help of Lucia, a new female partner, Dante agrees, not knowing just what is in store for him.
