The Devil May Cry series of video games are set in the modern day, developed by Capcom and created by Shinji Mikami. Originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom's Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry has been cited as the beginning of a sub-genre of action games by the name of Extreme Action.
The Devil May Cry series has become a large property spawning not just numerous video games, but also various anime, manga, and books. Recently, however, there has not been much more revealed in the world of Devil May Cry, or "DMC." The most recent update was the release of Devil May Cry 4 on the PC.

Devil May Cry 5th Anniversary Collection
On November 14, 2006 Capcom released the Devil May Cry 5th Anniversary Collection for the PlayStation 2. The compilation features Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special edition.
