DoomRL is a roguelike game for Microsoft Windows, Linux and FreeBSD, a work of fan fiction set in the Doom universe. It borrows many of the monsters and game elements from Doom and Doom 2. DoomRL has been around since at least 2005, but as of 2007 development has not reached a version 1.0.0.

Because it has the Doom weapons, DoomRL emphasises ranged combat. In many other roguelike games, melee combat is essential, at least in the beginning of the game before the hero learns other techniques. In DoomRL, the hero can immediately start shooting. Melee combat is only strictly necessary when the hero lacks ammo, and that tends to happen only in the early game. Most enemy monsters also have guns.
