Well it seems following the announcement of the european 40gb ps3, Sony has also announced that sku will be released in Japan as well as Australia. they also announced a few more details about the new sku, not only does it lack backwards compatibility, but going along with that it lacks memory card ports, and has only two usb ports. It seems that this sku will probably be released in North America as well, though they haven't announced it yet, for $399.99.
