More than three months after the release of their best selling title Sengoku Rance, Alice Soft has finally revealed their next title: Double Teacher Life.
"Double Teacher Life" info
- Title: Double Teacher Life (だぶる先生らいふっ)
- Genre: School life ADV (18+)
- Company: Alice Soft
- Price: 2800 yen
- Release date: tentatively for end of June.

Double Teacher Life is the third game in Alice Soft's series of School life ADV. Through some unexpected mishap, the main character, Jyuujyou Kaname (十条 要), begins living with two beautiful teachers newly dispatched to his school. The two teachers have very opposite personalities: one is cheerful and easygoing, while the other is cool and rational.
It is currently unknown whether the story takes place in the same world as Shima Ima and Yokubari Saboten, the previous two games in the series.
Extra: Games 2 ~ 4 conception
Along with the announcement of their next game, Alice Soft has also revealed 3 more tentative projects:
A transforming-heroine game following the footsteps of Beat Angel Escalayer. This time with two heroines. 8500 yen major title.
Mystery RPG title at 8500 yen. Absolutely nothing else is known. Die-hard Alice Soft fans speculated, by reflex, that it's going to be the long requested for Toushin Toshi 3.
Commentary
More often than not, by the time Alice Soft has released one game, it has already released information regarding its next game, which would have been already undergoing development for some time. Thus, the fact that there was a three-month gap between the release of Sengoku Rance and the announcement of their next seemed indicative that Alice Soft really threw all their resources at producing and quality checking Sengoku Rance. It completely disrupted the pipeline and probably caused some burnout. Sengoku Rance deserved to be ranked as the number one Bishoujo game of 2006 by BugBug Magazine.
Assuming the games were listed in their planned release order, we can see that the next two games are both 2800-yen minor titles, allowing Alice Soft to get something on the shelves for summer (Game 2 will probalby be released in July). Game 3, which has the same theme as Beat Angel Escalayer, might be ready by the time August rolls around, meeting the 5-year anniversy of Escalayer (released on August 2nd, 2002). Then Alice Soft could conclude 2007 with Game 4 in November or December.
Another unusual thing is the timing of this announcement. As a rule, Alice Soft almost only update their website on Fridays, after the work day is close to or already over in Japan. There is no currently observable reason as to why this announcement must be rushed out on a Tuesday, as opposed to waiting for the regular Friday update. Would this Friday's website update have something special requiring the games to be announced earlier? Or is it something as mundane as the webmistress need to take this weekend off, so she's updating the website early? This Friday brings anticipation with it.
