Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is a solid game. You really have to give some credit for the control scheme. While it's not as precise as a mouse and keyboard, with a little practice you can soon be deftly controlling your forces and the quite substantial amount of options this game offers. While there are some flaws, C&C 3 is hands down the best RTS on a console to date.

The graphics are solid all the way around, with a huge plus in the particle effects and explosions department. It's very entertaining to see large armies duke it out, complete with flame throwers, machine gun fire, lasers, and, of course, explosions. All of which are very well done. The shadow issues from BFME 2 have been corrected for this release and some of the powers' effects really add to the game's future-war flavor, especially the nukes and ion cannon.

The single player is substantial in length with three playable forces. Of course the NOD and GDI return and are complemented with the new addition of the Scrin. All three forces have their differences and it's fun to play with all of them throughout various mission layouts. One negative, however, is that no matter which force you control, many of the missions' success depends entirely on how quick you can build up your forces. Any mistep in this 'arms race' will most likely lead to failure. However, while cheesy, the HD FMV sequences with a few well known actors do offer a decent reward for success.

The online component offers a lot of options, moreso than its PC counterpart, and provides for quality extended play. In fact, the multiplayer will most likely be viewed by many as more enjoyable than the singleplayer as the playing field is leveled, with everyone using the same well done but still somewhat limited control scheme. Online play is very smooth and it's also nice to see a game take advantage of the 360's camera.

With the exception of some occasional slow down, minor control issues, and sometimes repetitive 'arms race' nature of the single player missions, this game is top notch and should be in anyone's library, especially those with a liking of the RTS genre.
