Europe

Europe is generally not a very good place to live if you're an impatient gamer. All games released here use the PAL format, and almost all games are released last here. This is generally due to the game having to have at least 4 different languages: English, French, German, Spanish, sometimes more. Game releases can take up to a few months to a year to be released here after North America. Sometimes this will allow the game developers to fix more glitches or bugs in the code.
Europe did, however, get The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Spore and a few other games way earlier than North America. In addition, a few games were released in Europe that did not receive a North American release at all, including Terranigma and Vib Ribbon.
All of the countries in Europe, excluding Germany and sometimes the UK, use the PEGI (or Pan European Game Information) content rating system for its games. In the UK the PEGI system is used, but in certain circumstances the BBFC system is used instead. In Germany they use the USK.
They do, however, have pastries, nonexistant drinking ages, lax drug laws, and funny accents so we still love 'em anyway.
