Fighting video games are video games where you typically fight another player, either computer-controlled, or human. These video games are usually only two-player, although there are some that can include up to four players. Fighting games usually focus completely on combat. In versus fighting games, there is usually no wandering from place to place, as the combat engine is central to the experience. There are 3D fighting games that have slower paced moves and work on a 3D plane with dodging, and then there are the more traditional 2D fighting games with complicated combo's and fast animation. A related genre is the beat 'em up, where one or more players fight against numerous enemies.
