Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a 2014 Indie Built survival horror video game created by Scott Cawthon. It is a prequel to Five Nights at Freddy's, as it is chronologically set before the events of the first game.
Similar to the previous game, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 centers around the fictitious Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where the player assumes the role of a security guard and must defend their self from the restaurant's animatronic mascots.
It was succeeded by Five Nights at Freddy's 3, which was released on March 2, 2015.

- Scott's first message pertaining to the game was in a response to a statement by a fan stating that the "sequel is on the way". The exact date this was posted is unknown.
- Scott later confirmed in another short response to a fan that the release date is set at 2015, with an unknown month release not yet determined by Scott. The exact date this was posted is unknown.
- One small piece of character information was released by Scott pertaining to the animatronic Foxy the pirate fox, stating that "Foxy will be back, in more ways than one ;)". This message was posted on September 29th, 2014."
