The Neo-Geo was a system released in 1990 in Japan by SNK. Unfortunately games for the Neo-Geo cost around $200 a piece and the system was about $650. Because of this the Neo-Geo was only popular with a small niche market of gamers. The Neo-Geo was especially popular with fighting game fans because it featured series such as King of Fighters.
Despite not being a highly popular console, the Neo-Geo had an extremely long lifespan with the last game released in 2004.
