Well what do we have here? It's another game in a relatively great series overall. Great Battle is a series that combines the popular antics of SD versions of Ultra, Kamen Rider and company on zany adventures, each one different than the last. The first SFC GB game was fairly simple and primitive, but each game got better. This is the second game of six GB games. I-V was released as well as a "Gaiden", and they are all fun games. This game is decent, but III-V and Gaiden are the ones worth tracking down. I only have the cart for this one, so I'm probably going to get rid if it eventually when I get a complete copy.

This game, like GB3, is a beat-em-up kinda in the vein of Golden Axe. It features quirky cutscenes, four playable characters each with different levels of specials/magic and basic attacks, passwords, and even branching story paths that lead to different levels. You can play as all four characters at any time by switching to them with the select button, though they differ very little outside of their specials. This game has what I'd call "load times". It's not bad, but you will notice it.

I should say a few things about the game. Weapons can be picked up, but they are so freaking slow and useless. Avoid them. Enemies can be juggled quite mercilessly, especially with a friend, so take advantage of teamwork. When you grab an opponent, act immediately, or you'll just get whacked. Also, try to finish enemies on screen. You'll get more opportunites to pick up special energy that way. Enjoy.
