Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in Europe) is an arcade game released by Konami. The game was released as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game when released for the Nintendo Entertainment System and home computers.

On some systems, this game was preceded by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the arcade, it was succeeded by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time. On the NES, this game was succeeded by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project. On the PC, it was succeeded by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Missions.

Story[ | ]

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must rescue April O'Neil from a burning building. Just as they do, Shredder appears and captures her.

Gameplay[ | ]

You control any of the four turtle warriors as you battle your way through endless Foot Clan soldiers, robots, and mutants to reach the boss at the end of the level. Though each of the turtles have their own weapons, they all have the same level of effectiveness and can also be hurt the same way. Energy is restored by walking on top of pizza boxes that the turtles come across.

The NES version features billboard advertisements for Pizza Hut, plus two additional levels not found in the arcade original.
