Final Fantasy XIII-2 is an upcoming sequel to Final Fantasy XIII in development by Square Enix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series and will not have the lighthearted tone of Final Fantasy X-2.
Storywise, the game focuses on a goddess in the Fabula Nova Crystallis story named Etro. Lightning was confirmed to be in the game prior to E3 2011.[1]
In the E3 2011 trailer, two other playable characters were shown: Serah, Lightning's sister and an NPC in the first game, and a young man named Noel. The paradigm system from Final Fantasy XIII was also shown.[2]
