The gameplay in Rock Revolution is similar to [[Guitar Hero]] and [[Rock Band]], in that players simulate playing rock music with instrument shaped peripherals. The game does not feature singing as a gameplay option however. The game has its own drum peripheral, but either a Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar controller must be used to play guitar songs. The notes on screen scroll down vertically rather than the tilted angle seen in similar rhythm games.
