The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords is an action-adventure game developed by Nintendo and Flagship and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and the ninth installment in The Legend of Zelda video game series. It was released in 2002 in the U.S. and 2003 in other countries. The cartridge comprises a modified port of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. To spice things up a bit, the game packed in a Capcom developed, experimental multiplayer game entitled "Four Swords". By using link cables with other GBA's that had a copy of the game, players could each control one color of link in an overhead perspective and solve cooperative puzzles.

The single-player portion of the cartridge is a port of A Link to the Past, the SNES title originally released in 1991. A handful of cosmetic changes are made for this version, including voice samples originally used for young Link in Ocarina of Time[1] and an additional dungeon, the Palace of the Four Sword.

The Palace of the Four Sword can be unlocked by completing the Four Swords multiplayer game, creating a new doorway in the east side of the Dark Pyramid of the Sacred Realm. In it, Link battles several new bosses to obtain the four aspects of the Four Sword, before confronting four doppelgängers of himself. Completion of the Palace of the Four Sword allows the player to see a "Quest Log" revealing certain statistics on the current game.

Four Swords is the multiplayer portion of the cartridge. In Four Swords, two to four players must cooperatively work through a series of puzzle-laden dungeons, while competing to collect rupees.

Four Swords

Four Swords put you in the role of Link, as Princess Zelda is in some sort of trouble with the evil wind mage named Vaati. To stop him, Link draws the Four Sword, creating 4 of him: The normal green one, a blue one, a red one, and a purple one. Together the links must venture across levels defeating enemies and bosses to prove himself to the3 fairies to be granted a key. There are three keys in all to get to be able to fight Vatti. After you have defeated Vatti you must do the process over again two more times to be granted the four swords icon at the title screen.
