The original game is hosted by MGame in Korea, and requires players to enter their Korean resident registration numbers to register. There are two other official versions; Knight Online Xross (usually called "JPKO") is hosted in Japan, while Knight Online World is hosted in the United States. Some people refer to Knight Online World as USKO. Both of these versions accept registration from any location. The Knight Online World version is popular in Turkey, and players from this country are an overwhelming majority in that version, which means it's hard to find a player speaking another language. Knight Online is officially free-to-play (although to connect to the utmost of the servers during prime time, paid premium is required), but there are some features that must be paid for. In addition, there is an in-game Powerup Shop or Store which contains various items that one can purchase such as premium packages. Paid services include exclusive items and Premiums which are a limited-time subscription providing many benefits.
The game is praised for its PvP capabilities.
As in most MMORPGs, the player controls a virtual character. After connecting to a server for the first time, players must take sides, choosing either El Morad or Karus. The two nations are equivalent but have different appearance. Once the nation is decided, it's a difficult and expensive process to switch nations. To create a character, the player must choose (depending on the nation) a race, from Barbarian, male/female El Moradian, and the four Tuarek races that inhabit Karus. Following that, a class must be selected for the character along with a few appearance options. Finally the character is named and given its first 10 Stat Points.
The newly created character starts out in Moradon, a neutral trade city where El Morad and Karus live in peace. The player may acquire a virtual helper (named Seed or Max) by rescuing him from the clutches of an earthworm. The helper will then give the player information about the game and also allows them to change the options.
A character may be moved around with the keyboard or the mouse (the latter is only available in the overhead view).
To advance in the game, the player must collect experience points to gain levels and items that boost the stats of the character. The monsters that inhabit the game world can be attacked using melee attacks or skills. Once a monster is killed, the killing player gains experience points and the monster leaves behind a loot box which may contain Noahs (in-game currency) and other items. The drop box is only accessible to the player or party that did the most damage to the monster. However, in case of kill stealing, the experience is divided according to the amount of damage done.
There are many quests in the game. These may require the player to kill a certain amount of a monster or to collect certain items (quest items). The squire will warn the player about any quests that may be completed at the current level. Quests are given out by certain NPCs who are usually found in towns. The reward for the quests may include experience, Noahs, weapons and armor, or even the ability to use certain skills. Players are encouraged to be patient with collection of the reward because as they level up it becomes more difficult to accumulate experience.
Players lose experience if they die from a monster. The amount lost depends on the character's level and it's also possible to lose a level upon losing experience. However, a death that results in a loss of a level will not allow the player to complete quests of the lower level.
When leveling up, the players gain stat points which can be distributed into Strength, Health, Dexterity, Intelligence and Magic Power stats. Levels 2~60 will give the player 3 stat points, while level 61 and beyond will give 5. Starting at level 10, two Skill Points are also awarded for each level. Characters may undergo the first job change at level 10 and the second job change at level 60. The job changes unlock new skills for the character, depending on its class.
Most items can be traded between players. The game's merchant feature allows the player to set up a kiosk to sell or buy items for Noahs. If a player has enough Noahs or the item sought for, he can enter the kiosk and perform the exchange. The transaction is done automatically, so the merchant doesn't have to be at the computer when the item is sold or bought. Bartering is also permissible using the trading option. This allows two players to exchange multiple items and/or Noahs between each other. Since a player can't hold more than 2.1 billion Noahs, players often exchange several items for a very valuable item. Each server has specific economies and equilibrium point for most valuable items.
Jobs (character classes)
Each character belongs to one of the two nations of the game: El Morad (humans) or Karus (orcs, although the game calls them "Tuareks").
Knight Online has four character classes available for both nations: Warrior, Rogue, Mage, and Priest. Each class has a basic skill set, three main skill sets (after 1st job change), and one master skill set (after 2nd job change).

As in most MMORPGs, Knight Online enables players to group together and complete objectives. Parties in Knight Online range between having two to eight players. The characters must be in a certain level range of the party leader in order to be in the same party. (However, a clan member may invite any other clan member regardless of level difference.) Party-members gain experience in accordance to their level. Knight Online encourages parties, since parties can collectively complete monster-killing quests.
In general, players receive experience from monsters in accordance to their contribution of level within a party, e.g. in a party of a level 35 character and a level 45 character, the level 45 character will receive significantly more experience than the level 35 character per kill of a monster. The level 35 character will receive less experience than they might by killing the monster by themselves, and the level 45 character will get more experience than if he killed the monster by himself (nevertheless, the level 35 character will most likely receive more experience in general because the level 45 character will likely kill monsters much faster than the level 35 character could by themselves).
Noahs are split fairly evenly among players, and the total number of Noahs a monster drops, is to some extent determined by the number of party members killing the monster. If the player doing the most damage to the monster is no longer eligible to receive Noahs from a monster (because their level is higher than a certain threshold) then no Noahs are dropped by the monster. For instance, a level 55 character will no longer receive Noah drops by killing "Lycan s" (a level 35 monster) so if that character does the majority of damage to the Lycan in a party, the party members will not receive any coin drop (if a level 20 character does most of the damage then Noahs will be distributed once clicked on).
Items are distributed in rotation among players, e.g. if a "crystal" is picked up by any member of the party then whose ever turn it is to receive the item will get it. This results in party members deliberately picking up unnecessary or cheap items during other party member's turns to pick up, or in some cases, players leaving the party while the treasure chest is open, and taking the item while not in the party if it is particularly valuable.
Captains and bosses
Many groups of monsters have particularly large and powerful monsters, which spawn less often than the others in the same group, these are Captains or leaders. By accessing the map (pressing M), spawn points of Captains may be located. Captains often drop leader accessories, which are a form of beginner friendly gear, or even somewhat valuable objects.
Differing from Captains are bosses, these extremely rare creatures spawn extremely infrequently (around every 12 hours). Bosses may drop unique items endemic to their species of monsters, or other extremely valuable items.
Servers and worlds
The game is hosted on a couple of servers in each version. Servers are grouped into worlds. No characters or items may be transferred across worlds, but a character created in a world is available on all servers of the world.
A player may create up to 3 characters per world on the same account. These characters have a common "bank" which can be used for storing items and Noahs.
The Korean and Japanese version of the game have only one server per world, while the Knight Online World version has 2 servers, which take the name of the world suffixed by the number 1 or 2 (for example, the world Ares has 2 servers: Ares1 and Ares2). In this version, some zones and events including War, Delos, the Abyss, and Ardream can only be accessed from server one in each world, which typically has the most users logged in at any given time.
The Carnac-West server (Knight Online World) allows players from North America, parts of Europe, Australia, and a few other countries to have an isolated access to this server. By preventing players with IPs from other countries, the server population of Carnac-West was greatly reduced, drastically eliminating the login issues for players of the permitted geographic regions.
Knight Online allows players to fight against each other in various zones. Some of these provide no rewards or risks, while in others players gain National Points and Leader Points (also called Ladder Points) for killing enemies, but the defeated player loses some of these points. When killing in solo, 50 NP is awarded for killing, but when in a party, the points gained are distributed among the party members (still, the total amount of points gained is higher with more players in the party). Dying results in the loss of 50 NP. Leader point gains and losses depend on whether the involved players have a Leader or National ranking. Additionally, 50% of the defeated player's coins is transferred to the victor, although losing coins can be prevented by placing the coins into the bank.
The 50 players with the most National Points and the 200 players with the most leader points of each nation are ranked and are eligible for a "knight stipend", a small cash bonus. Leader points are reset to zero each month.
Other than arenas, players can only attack others from the opposing nation.
Knight Online PvP is notable for requiring a lot of skill in addition to good items. There are possibilities for doing combos, and quick reflexes for using healing items or skills is also important.
The game has the following PvP areas:
- Arenas are battlefields where players may battle each other without risking National Points. There are arenas for free-for-all combat, fights between parties or clans. Arenas are a good place to practice one's PvP skills.
- Abyss Dungeon, Krowaz's Dominion and the clan promotion quest areas are locations where fighting among players is not the main purpose, but nevertheless enabled. There are no rewards and losses for fighting in these zones.
- Ardream, Ronark Land Base and Ronark Land are open battle zones. National and Leader points are awarded. These are considered the primary PvP locations in the game.
- There are certain events where players can battle each other, such as wars and Juraid Mountain. These events are scheduled and a limited number of players can enter.
There are many types of items in the game, such as weapons, armor, accessories, quest items and consumable items. There are also materials for crafting items.
A character can wear 5 pieces of armor: helmet, pauldron, pads, boots and gauntlets. Each piece of armor is specialized for a class, and only characters of that class may wear it. Armors come in different tiers, a higher tier armor granting more defense ability than a lower tier one, while requiring more stat points to wear. Character builds exist for most tiers of armor, as the stat requirements determine which weapons can be used and whether an offensive or supporting role fits the character.
There are 6 basic tiers of armor: basic ("Paper", sacrifices defense for attack), half-plate, plate, full-plate/crystal, chitin/crimson and chitin shell/complete. (The name after the slash is used for mages only.) There are special set items which have the same properties as Tier 6 armor, but when multiple pieces are worn (i.e. a set of these armors), various bonuses will appear. Wearing 5 pieces of the "set" gives the greatest bonus. In the Forgotten Frontiers expansion, a manufacturing method for set armors was introduced. Set items may also be achieved through national ranking and from Knight Medals.
A player can use a variety of weapons, not all weapons are for set classes. Any character can use almost any weapon, as long as they have the required stats. Using weapons that don't require class stats or skills is almost useless, as they do not confer any bonuses. The only exceptions for the most part are bows, which are only available to rogues.
The game also includes several unique weapons, which may drop from bosses or have a (usually small) chance of dropping from reward items collected in certain events. Unique weapons are highly sought after, as they offer many bonuses at once.
At level 70, there is a quest available in Eslant to get a personal weapon or shield depending on the player's class. The weapon's name is personalized with the player's name. However, this is one of the hardest quests on the whole game of Knight Online. This quest is available at level 80 again. This time, you need to kill 2 bosses that are even harder than those required at level 70 in order to get the level 80 Quest Weapon. This weapon is the same as the one at level 70.
Items labeled "Upgrade item" or "Unique item" can be upgraded by taking them to the Magic Anvil with the compatible scrolls. There is a chance that the item will be destroyed during the upgrade.
Weapons and armor can be upgraded up to +10, but the success rate is very low after +7. Players can purchase Trina's Pieces from the Powerup Store to increase the success rate.
Accessories can be upgraded by combining 3 copies of the accessory into one. Example: A Linen Belt +6 (DEX), Linen Belt +6(DEX), Fur Belt +6(DEX), and an Accessory Composition scroll could potentially create a Linen Belt +7(DEX) or fail and destroy all four items. Upgradeable accessories that have one stat bonus on them can be upgraded up to +10. Once at this level, there are special scrolls that will compound +10 accessories and add a second stat bonus.
Dual-stat accessories and unique accessories can be upgraded up to +5. This has a 100% success rate until +3, but after that there's a large chance of failure.
Since the release of the Reign of the Fire Drake, a new system of upgrading was implemented. The Rebirth System gives players a new upgrading option when it comes to armor and weapons. This system of upgrading allows better probabilities when upgrading. However, only certain items may undergo rebirthing:
- High class items that are +7 or above that were high class grade at +1.
- Unique items that are +7 or above.
To rebirth an item, you need to buy a Rebirth Scroll and use it with the item on the magic anvil.
When rebirthing a normal or unique item, its upgrade level will change:
- Existing +7 item -> Rebirth +1 item
- Existing +8 item -> Rebirth +5 item
- Existing +9 item -> Rebirth +11 item
- Existing +10 item -> Rebirth +21 item
- Rebirth+22->31= higher than +10 (which is the limit)
Rebirthed items are upgraded using special upgrade scrolls. There is also an equivalent to the Trina's Piece that works with rebirth items: it's called Tears of Karivdis.
The Forgotten Frontiers expansion introduced a new concept of manufacturing: by collecting materials from various locations and events, powerful weapons and armor may be created. There is a chance that the manufacturing won't succeed. Weapons produced this way are called Satanism (Cursed weapons in the English version), and can have various added effects when attacking, such as shrinking the enemy and making them weaker. Set armors are also manufactured using this method.
Clans and knight squads
A clan is a group of users (generally friends) that come together; most players prefer to have friends as clan members, but the larger and more powerful clans will only admit strong characters. The benefits of being in a clan include: a separate chat channel for clan members whose text appears in green on the main chat window, the ability to party with your clan members no matter what levels they are, the ability to party a clanmate without being close enough to manually select them, and finally the ability to earn clan achievements, such as capes. Each clan can consist of up to 36 members.
The basic requirement of getting clan achievements is collection of National Points. Clans are ranked into grades depending the total National Points the clan has. After reaching certain grades, the clan may attempt one of the Knight promotion tests. These consist of killing a powerful monster. Once the clan has completed the quest, it gains a Knight Squad rank. The three possible Knight Squad types are Training Knight, Accredited Knight and Royal Knight. From the Accredited Knight rank onwards, clan members must donate their National Points to the clan in order to advance ranks. The clan leader can set the donation to manual or automatic. In automatic mode, 20% of the National Points gained by the members will be donated automatically. If a player quits a clan, the clan will lose the total amount that the member has contributed. The member will only get a 30% refund of their total contribution as well.
The insignia of a Knight Squad are the cape and the Knight Symbol, an icon that appears next to the name of the clan members. After the clan gains ranks, more customization options of capes become available. Capes that require an Accredited or higher rank cost Clan Points to purchase, and so does the option to customize the cape color. Clan members have armbands that represent the clan's grade. The top 5 clans on each server have a special armband with a flame animation on it.
After getting the Accredited Knight rank, grades must be purchased using Clan Points. 1 Clan Point is equivalent of 36 National Points.
Knight Squads may form an alliance. Alliances have a separate chatting channel. Allies get the cape design of the main clan, but they don't get the color if it was customized.
There are many maps in which players of Knight Online may find themselves in. Players usually travel between them using a set of Warp gates for a price. The price of traveling with the gates varies depending on where you travel to. Some zones have a different way of entering, such as by talking to a NPC.
Moradon is the zone where new players start. It has many low-level monsters and quests so new players can familiarize themselves with the game. Moradon is a neutral trade zone where Karus and El Morad can't attack each other (except in the arenas). Because of this, it's the main merchant hub in the game.
Luferson and El Morad
The largest zones of the game, each nation holds many creatures which make good hunting for mid to high level characters. Only members of the appropriate nation can enter their land so the majority of the gameplay in these areas focuses on the player versus the environment (PvE).
However, after a war, the victorious nation is able to invade the opposing nation for at least one hour and members of both nations can encounter each other on these maps and be rewarded Nation Points for killing opposing players.
Karus and El Morad Eslant
Eslant is a zone with powerful monsters. Level 60 is required to enter. Karus and El Morad have separate Eslants and can only enter their own nation's. Many bosses spawn in this zone.
Previously called Colony Zone. In this zone, most bosses spawn in the bowl, which is located in the center of the map. Atross and Riote also spawn here. They award National Points when killed. Ronark Land also has a few quests in which the players can earn large amounts of experience points if completed. It is mainly a player vs player zone (PvP).
Ardream is a lower level version of Ronark Land, available for anybody between level 35-59.
Unlike Ronark, bosses in Ardream can spawn everywhere. This zone has different monsters than Ronark because of the level of its players. (Few exceptions, i.e. Dark Mares which can also be found in Eslant.) Atross and Riote appear in this zone as well. (In the Korean version, a boss monument near the center of Ardream will spawn every 80 minutes, upon destruction it will release 4 different bosses previously found randomly spawning in Ardream).
Exploration Zone and Ronark Land Base
The Exploration Zone (called Ronark Land Base in the English version) is a zone that debuted in the Forgotten Frontiers expansion and allows levels 60-69 to enter. It is a compromise for players who feel restricted by the limited abilities of an Ardream character but don't want to spend time leveling to match the power of Ronark Land players.
Delos is used for the Castle Siege War but can be entered when the event is not underway. The purpose of doing this is getting into the Abyss Dungeon.
It is located in Delos, at the heart of the castle. It is made up of 20 levels going down, each level being a large circular chamber inhabited by progressively stronger monsters. Many times you can't move on to the next floor of the abyss until you find a key by killing the monsters within the floor you are on. Within the abyss is a "secret" gate into the Hell Abyss, another dungeon with even stronger monsters. You'll need the Key of Hell to find this entrance.
The Abyss is a PvP area. Unlike the other PvP zones you do not lose or gain money or NP for killing another player. For this reason there is an uneasy truce between orcs and humans, which sometimes break out into hostilities without warning out of spite (usually from kill stealing). In the Abyss, all the monsters drop an item called the Abyss gem, these gems can be traded to an NPC in Moradon for various prices. This isn't all that attracts players to brave the dangers of the Abyss. Many players go to the abyss for +9 accessories, transformation scrolls, Abyss health potions, and other more expensive items dropped by the monsters there.
With the Reign of the Fire Drake patch, a final floor with the boss Felankor was added. Felankor is the dragon you often see on the Knight Online homepage. He is one of the hardest monsters to kill and drops a Ring Of Felankor and other unique items. Felankor only spawns after a server restart.
This zone was introduced in the Forgotten Frontiers expansion. It has a level requirement of 70 and contains many powerful monsters and traps. Dying from a trap results in a loss of 200 National Points. Players can fight each other in this zone but there are no rewards for this. The most skilled players can take on the boss Krowaz. Items dropped by the bosses in this zone are used in the manufacturing system.
Monster Suppression Squad
Monster Suppression Squads are instance dungeons. Each instance supports one party. There are 3 different versions, each for different level ranges. (However, for the 2nd and 3rd quest, there is a loophole: if a player who hasn't done the quest is added to a party with players who have done it or aren't in the level range, those players will be transported to the instances as well.) The goal in these areas is to slay monsters and finally face a boss. Monsters drop a certificate of hunting, and when the boss is killed all members in the instance receive a different type of certificate and the quest is marked as completed. The certificates can then be turne middle-class weapon (for MSS2) or some experience (for MSS3). These zones are also notable for being the only place where armors with weapon defence are dropped.
Scheduled events happen on a regular basis for each server. These are one of the main focal points of Knight Online.
There are 2 different Forgotten Temples: one for level 60 or above and another for level 46-59. This event pits the first 32 to enter the event against waves of monsters. Those who remain standing at the end and able to kill all the monsters (including a powerful boss at the end) in 30 minutes, if any, receive a treasure chest they can then trade in for a chance of getting powerful unique items. Players can form parties with members of opposing nations during Forgotten Temple events.
Lunar War and Dark Lunar War
Another focal point of the game. Players can choose to participate in the event by entering the Lunar Valley during war time. The first 250 (in Lunar war) or 120 (in Dark Lunar) players from each side will decide the fate of the battle in the Lunar Valley. Among all the players in the war, 5 clan leaders who have the most National Points in their clan will transform into Commander which rides a horse and has additional benefits.
There is one Dark Lunar War map (Nieds Triangle) and four Lunar War maps (Napairs Canyon, Alsaids Prairie, Nereidth Island, Oreads). On most maps, the goal is to slay the opposing nation's two warders and one keeper. Once a side loses all of these 3 NPC's, the war ends. If the war doesn't end within 1 hour, the nation with the most kills wins.
Nereidth Island has different rules. There are 7 monuments on the map which must be captured by destroying them. Each monument adds 2 points per minute to the side's total. If a nation occupies all 7 monuments (after 30 minutes into the war) that nation wins. Otherwise, after 1 hour the nation with the most accumulated points wins.
Each of the commanders will receive 300 National Points when they win the war. The defeated nation attempts to repel the invaders.
After the Lunar War (but not Dark Lunar War), the winning side may then invade the opposing nation, regardless of participation in the war. Each invasion lasts at least one hour, after which the invaders are recalled back to their homeland. During this time, the victorious nation invaders try to drive their way as deep as possible into enemy territory, with the aim of killing players from the opposite nation to gain National Points, as well as capturing the Monuments located in the enemy land for great National Point bonuses.
Castle siege war
The only clan versus clan event. It occurs within the Delos zone. Only clans with grade 3 or better can participate. The clan that manages to hold the castle by defending an artifact inside for the longest period during the event will be given control of the Delos castle, and their customized flag will fly above it until the next castle siege war in which they must defend their hold.
The clan that holds the castle will set the tax rate for all of the Moradon and Delos zone and will receive all collected funds. However, setting the tax rate too high will make it difficult to get allies to defend the castle at the next castle siege.
Furthermore, the clan that holds the castle controls the gate through which people must pass in order to get to the Abyss dungeon. By simply closing the gate to non-allies they can inflate the price of the abyss gems and other abyss items which they can then sell for increased prices.
Juraid Mountain is a high level (70-83) PvP event where the objective is to fight through 3 separate rooms to reach the center room where the Boss must be defeated. The 2 nations will start at opposite ends of the map and work their way to the middle. The party will be facing monsters in each room, which could be herds of Minotaurs, Lich Kings, Lillimes, Cockatrices, Bone Dragons or Red Dragon Hatchlings. After killing one of the said monsters, a gem may be dropped. Intermission monsters like Troll Warriors, Doom Soldier or Apostles will appear before you can continue to fight the main monster. You have the option to skip the monster and go directly to the boss Deva Bird (especially for weak party or no priest) by waiting for the bridge to the next room to open. Winning is achieved if you have killed the boss. Juraid mountain will last for 50 minutes at the most. If the boss is not killed within the time limit, the number of kills decides. The winning nation in this event will obtain precious gems which can be turned in to the Chaotic Generator in Moradon for some very rare unique items.
Players need to register after a notice is displayed by talking to a specific NPC. Only even numbers from each nation may participate and up to 400 of each nation may register. For example, if there are 100 Karus and 150 El Morad, only 100 El Morad will enter. Parties are formed by character class with two rogues, two priests, two mages and two warriors in each party. If a certain class is missing in a party, another class will randomly take its place.
Border Defense Wars
Border Defense Wars are held in 7 different categories, the lowest starting at level 20 and the highest ending at level 78. Entrees of both nations to the event are pitted in 8 vs. 8 parties to compete for massive amounts of experience and a Red Treasure Chest. The goal to winning is to capture the central monument and defend it for a certain time, or get 80 kills. If neither happens in thirty minutes, the party with more kills wins.
When the time for the Border Defense War comes, a little window will appear on the eligible players' screen. This window contains the button to sign up for the event. After the countdown reaches zero, parties will be transported into dungeon instances one by one, starting with the lowest levels. Therefore the highest level players might have to wait 20 minutes before entering.
In the Chaos battle, up to 18 players are put against each other in each dungeon instance. Each player uses the same standardized character; there's no difference between players' characters in the dungeon. A limited pool of skills can be used. This is a free-for-all battle and there's no way to make a party. The goal is to kill as many players as possible within the time limit of 20 minutes while keeping one's death count to a minimum.
Although this is a good system it is infested with hackers so it is virtually pointless playing it.
Introduced in the Reign of the Fire Drake expansion. Multiple times of the day, there is a Bifrost siege where both nations try to destroy the Bifrost Monument located in the middle of Ronark Land. The nation which lands the final hit gains access to the Bifrost zone. 30 minutes later the other nation gains access as well. The whole event lasts for 2 hours, counting from the moment the monument was destroyed.
In Bifrost, monsters associated to the seven sins can be found. By hunting them, players can obtain Fragments of that particular sin. By collecting one fragment of each type, players can enter the chamber of Ultima, one of the most powerful bosses in the game. Fragments can be taken to the Chaotic Generator in Moradon and turned in for random items. Some unique items can only be obtained by turning in fragments.
In addition to regularly scheduled events, Game Masters can hold special events.
Boss Events: The GM may wish to unleash havoc among PvP and National zones. Boss events are a reward to devoted players of Knight Online, giving high amounts of spending money and rare items.
Experience and Drop Rate Events: The elected King and/or GM may allot time for an increase in experience and money/items when monsters are killed.
Find the GM Event: a GM hides somewhere in El Morad or Karus. The first player to find the GM and say "hello" to him wins a prize which is usually inserted during regular maintenance.
Kill the GM Event: a character with impossible-to-get items appears in Ronark Land. This character has such high amount of HP and defense that it takes a lot of players to take him down. The player to deliver the killing hit is awarded a large amount of coins. Two rounds are held for each nation.
Power Up Store Events: Benefits are often given to people who spend a certain amount of money at the Power Up Store.
Events that celebrate the holidays come every now and then. Such holidays that have been celebrated are Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, Children's Day, and Halloween.
MGame releases updates for the game. The Korean version receives updates in every one or two weeks. The other versions only get major updates roughly once a year, called expansions. These include most of the updates from the Korean version. The following expansions apply to Knight Online World.
In September 2005, a major update known as Knight Empire was released that changed a few maps, added new item upgrading systems, and introduced the King system into the game.
Reign of the Fire Drake
On August 3, 2006 a new expansion called The Reign of the Fire Drake was released. This update added the Bifrost, Nereidth Island, Ardream, Dragon Cave and Monster Suppression zones, many new quests, monsters, and bosses; changed the user interface, introduced the Post-Office system and Chaotic Generator, and increased the maximum level cap to 80. Felankor the Dragon has since been one of the mascots of the game.!!
Moradon: The Resurrection
Released in late 2007 as Moradon: The Resurrection. This expansion added a couple of new things to the starter city, Moradon. The map was totally modified, with a new city and large hunting areas. It also introduced the requirement of level 35 for leaving the map. This expansion included the ability to raise pets, acquiring the Accredited Knight and Royal Knight ranks, buying Medals for National Points and the Border Defense War and Juraid Mountain events.
Released on 21 Oct 2008. This expansion raised the maximum level to 83, adding one or two skills for each class. A system for manufacturing weapons and armors was added. Ronark Land was modified to accommodate new monsters which drop materials for manufacturing. New zones introduced are Krowaz's Dominion, Ronark Land Base and the Oreads war map. Many new quests were added and existing ones were modified to become easier. A buying merchant mode was added (previously merchants could only be used for selling items) and the help request system also debuted in this version.
Released in Japan on 13 Aug 2009 and to Knight Online World on 10 Dec 2009. The Chaos expansion includes a new event called Chaos Dungeon, an 8th set of armors, increased rewards for quests, more character customization options, a mining mini-game, but also a lot of bugs. A lot of players have complained about those bugs but the community has become toothless tigers.
