LostWinds is a platform video game that came out in 2008 and was developed by Frontier Developments. It was initially released as a launch title for WiiWare on the Wii console. In this game, players take on the role of a young boy named Toku, who is accompanied by a powerful wind spirit called Enril. Together, they embark on a journey to save the mystical land of Mistralis from Balasar, an evil spirit seeking vengeance. The game also features a two-player mode, where the second player controls Enril alongside the first player.
LostWinds was later ported to iOS devices after it became a success on the Wii. The game's popularity led to the release of a sequel called LostWinds 2: Winter of the Melodias in 2009. In this game, players control Toku and Enril simultaneously, using the Wii Remote or gestures on iOS to direct the wind's direction. The wind is used to help Toku jump farther, defeat enemies, and solve puzzles. In two-player mode, the second player can control a separate on-screen wind cursor that allows Toku to fly further, but not higher.
