Operation Flashpoint: Red River is a video game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC developed and published by Codemasters.[1] It is a sequel to Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

PlotEdit

The game's plot concerns a fictional conflict in Tajikistan between the United States Marine Corps (USMC), the Peoples Liberation Army of China (PLA), and the insurgents.[2][3]

GameplayEdit

The game is a first person shooter, similar to its predecessor. The player will have the option of playing the four player campaign and fire team engagement (FTE) cooperatively.[4] However, the game will not feature competitive multiplayer. The game won't feature a mission editor or SDK for neither PC nor console platforms.[5] The player will be able to choose between four classes of soldiers to play as, rifleman, grenadier, scout and auto rifleman, each with their own weapons, attachments, B-mods (perks every class has access to), specializations (perks only the chosen class has access to), and core skills.[6] The player will be able to purchase the attachments with the XP earned in any game mode whilst completion points earned by achieving medals (bronze, silver, and gold) on each of the campaign and FTE's . The game's director Sion Lenton said "Operation Flashpoint: Red River is being built around four player co-op online play, complete with a strong narrative, new enemies and combat scenarios to deliver gameplay that immerses players in the reality of war like never before"[7] The enemies will be able to kill the player with a single shot.[8] The single player campaign will be divided into three distinct acts.[9] The game will attempt to be as realistic as possible.[10] It is an realistic first person shooter. It takes realistic warfare to the level that CoD didn't do. For example if you get shot in the leg, you can't run as fast, or if you get hit in the arm your accuracy will go down but you can medic yourself and basically heal up but the more you do the longer it takes and you could risk getting shot again and killed.
