Painkiller is a FPS for PCs. The game is made by Dreamcatcher. There is an expansion pack for Painkiller called Painkiller: Battle Out of Hell.

Painkiller's story is that the main character, who is named Daniel, and his Catherine, his wife, are going out for supper on her birthday. The car crashes and both Daniel and Catherine die. Catherine is sent to Heaven while Daniel is in Purgatory. An angel named Sammael offers to get Daniel into Heaven if Daniel kills Lucifer's four generals. Lucifer is planning to invade heaven. Daniel is helped by Eve (the same Eve from the bible).
