Riviera: The Promised Land (Riviera: Yakusoku no Chi in Japan) is a unique RPG published in the US by Atlus. It is much like a traditional Adventure game, due to the unique control scheme. You do not actually control the characters movement, just which of the visible pathways to check.
[edit] Story
1000 years ago, a war broke out between the gods of Asgard and the demons of Utgard. The war brought misery and chaos. Finally, the gods finally decided to bring the war to an end so they broke an ancient taboo summoning winged reapers called Grim Angels carrying weapons called Diviners.
The war was brought to an end and the Demons were sealed but the gods were soon to follow. Before vanishing, the gods left all their knowledge and power in the heavenly isle of Riviera for the inhabitants to keep.
1000 years later signs of demons have returned and without the gods, Asgard would most likely perish. Now two angels descend to actuate the retribution and protect Asgard.
