RollerGames is a coin-operated arcade game by Konami, made in 1990, and based on the television show of the same name. This arcade game is faithful to the show unlike the NES version of RollerGames, which is a side-scrolling game. The game is for 2 players and features all the skaters and managers from the league:
- T-Birds: Bill Griffiths, Jr,
- Hot Flash: Juan Valdez-Lopez
- Rockers: D.J. Terrigno
- Violators: Skull
- Maniacs: Guru Drew
- Bad Attitude: "Mizz" Georgia Hase
Score values are cut in half from the real show (and rounded up if needed), and feature only 4 99-second cycles instead of 45-second cycles within 4 6-minute periods.
The players control the two jetters. After referee Don Lastra blows his whistle to begin the cycle, the first lap leads the jetters to the Wall of Death (the heavily banked curve of the jetwave). They get 1 point for getting 3 steps in the between the two red lines and 3 for getting above the top line. On the jet jump, they get 3 points for landing beyond the 12-foot marker and 1 point for landing in front of the line. The rest of the cycle awards 1 point for passing or fighting off opposing blockers (who come back to haunt the jetters afterwards) and 2 points for lapping or fighting off the opposing jetter. The team with the most points wins.
While it doesn't affect the outcome of the game, there is a bonus Street Fighter II-style fight that happens after the first period to illustrate that violence does happen in RollerGames.
