Fire Emblem Wiki
|Game Series||Fire Emblem & Super Smash Bros.|
|First Appearance||Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals|
|Occupation:||Prince of Pherae|
Roy is a young boy in all the games he's featured in. He is the son of the Marquess of Pherae, Eliwood. In Sword of Seals, he is a Lord class, and the only one who can wield the Sword of Seals. In the game, he is defending his country from the country of Bern, which is under the rule of King Zephiel. Roy is also briefly featured in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword. Because this game takes place many years before Sword of Seals, Roy is only shown at the very end of the game as a little boy.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Roy is basically a heavily altered Marth clone. They have the same moves and controls, but with different attributes. Compared to Marth, Roy is a slower character. His sword is not as long, which makes his range suffer. However, all of his attacks do fire-type damage, causing a slight stun on enemies.
Roy is also a stronger character. His B button slash can be charged to do up to 50% damage. When the player lets go of the button at maximum power, Roy brings down his sword in a huge explosion that even damages himself. Also, unlike Marth, Roy's sword is strongest in the middle of the blade. His Counter attack is much stronger, but requires better timing to pull off.
|B||Flare Blade: Hold to charge. At maximum, does 1 hit KO, but damages Roy.|
|B+Forward||Double Edge Dance: A variable combo. Quickly keep hitting B+Direction for different moves in the 4-hit combo.|
|B+Down||Counter: Roy will strike a defensive stance and flash. If hit when flashing, the damage will be bounced off of Roy onto the enemy.|
|B+Up||Blazer: A multi-hit upward slash.|
