The SaGa series is a property of Square-Enix, though not as popular as their other franchises like Chrono, Final Fantasy or Seiken Densetsu. They are RPG games that started on the Game Boy.
At the time of the release of the first game in the series, Square changed the name to Final Fantasy Legend, even if it is not part of the Final Fantasy world, since Final Fantasy was better known. They did the same for Final Fantasy Legend II and Final Fantasy Legend III. The first game in the series to come out under it's proper name in North America was SaGa Frontier for the PlayStation.
