The Sega Nomad was a handheld by Sega, though different from their first attempt, the Game Gear. It was released only in North America in 1995, at an initial retail price of $170.00 USD. It was essentially a portable Genesis, with a fully lit color screen to go along with it. Gamers could use their Genesis cartridges and play them on the go.
However, the handheld soon failed because of it's huge size (Bigger than the already bulky Game Gear) and abysmal battery life.
