Sid Meier, creator of Civilization.
The renowned game designer Sid Meier is best known for his hit PC game, Civilization. It is a favorite of fellow gaming legend, Will Wright. Meier founded MicroProse, a developer, which created Civilization. Eventually, he left and formed another company called Firaxis Games, now known for such games as Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and sequels to the Civilization series. In 1999, he was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.
