State of Emergency 2 is the sequel to State of Emergency. The game was released in February 2006. The game is available exclusively on PlayStation 2. Versions of the game for the PlayStation Portable, Xbox, and PC were planned, but were cancelled for unknown reasons.[citation needed]
State of Emergency 2 takes place ten years after the first game. It features more game modes and an enhanced engine.
The first game in the series, State of Emergency, was developed by VIS Entertainment for Rockstar Games, but the series was continued by SouthPeak Interactive and Sony Computer Entertainment.
