Stub Stormwind City is the human capital city in the MMORPG World of Warcraft, part of the Alliance, and the former enclave of the Kingdom of Stormwind; it is located at the northwestern end of Elwynn Forest. Attacked by Deathwing in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Stormwind has been slowly recovering from the attack. The Park district of Stormwind was completely destroyed, the buildings reduced to rubble as well as a giant hole bordering the ocean now flooding into the area; this area was recently restored in World of Warcraft: Legion, and is now home to a memorial of King Varian Wrynn, who died during the initial Alliance and Horde invasion of The Broken Isles to battle the Burning Legion. Some of the towers used to have burnt claw imprints left on them by Deathwing, but these repairs were completed by the time of Legion. ==Points of Interest== There are many districts within the city. Stormwind City is a big place, and it's very easy to get lost. Whenever you need help finding a certain NPC, stop and ask a guard, and they'll be sure to give you help. ===Trade District=== Most of the vendors and players congregate in this area. There is an Auction House, Inn, and bank for all characters to use. A Hero's Call Board is also present. ===Dwarven District=== Most of the dwarves and gnomes who work within Stormwind are in their own district. Engineering, Mining, and Blacksmithing trainers can be found here, as well as anvils and forges. There is an Auction house, an Inn, and a bank for players to use. There is also a Hero's Call Board. The Deeprun Tram, an instanced connection of trams that run underground from Stormwind City to Ironforge, can be accessed through the Dwarven district. ===Lion's Rest=== A memorial to King Varian Wrynn now occupies the land of the former Park district. ===Stormwind Docks=== The Stormwind Docks provide players with transport across Azeroth, including routes to Darkshore and Teldrassil in Kalimdor, and Borean Tundra in Northrend; the docks also serve as the location that players initially set sail to Vash'jir from. ===Old Town=== Old Town contains most of the important facilities in Stormwind, including the Champions Hall and SI:7, as well as providing homes for most of the cities inhabitants. There is a tavern here as well. ===Mage District=== The Mage District is a district for the magical and enchanting world of mage studies. A massive, spiralling tower located directly in the middle of the district is home to the Mage, Warlock and Portal trainers. There are also a few taverns here as well as a Herbalism profession trainer. ===Cathedral District=== The Cathedral District is home to the cathedral of Stormwind, and many followers of the light gather here. Paladin and Priest trainers are found inside the cathedral along with First Aid trainers. There is an orphanage outside, hosting children for the annual "Children's Week" in-game holiday. ===Stormwind Keep=== Stormwind Keep is home to the King of Stormwind, King Anduin Wrynn, as well as his closest advisors, such as the Worgen leader, Genn Greymane. Harrison Jones can also be found here, serving as an Archaeology trainer. ===Outskirts=== The Outskirts are the newest addition to Stormwind. It's a redesigned "Park" area that features a gazebo, a lake, a graveyard, and all the portals to Cataclysm zones can be found here. The Pandaren have also made this spot their home, offering their rare turtle mounts to players, as well as a portal to Jade Forest in Pandaria. The Battle Pet trainer can also be found here. The outskirts can be accessed from the Dwarven District and Stormwind Keep. ==Old Points of Interest== ===The Park=== The park was once a beautiful vista, admired by many citizens, and the home of the local night elf population. However, Deathwing's attack destroyed most of the area, causing a massive hole in which the surrounding ocean currently floods through. Warcraft Blizzard Entertainment
