Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World is the special edition addition of the original Super Mario All-Stars.
This game is exactly like the original, except with a twist. This game also has Super Mario World (The first Super Mario title to come out on the SNES) with it as well. This game came out in about 1994-1995 only in North America and other PAL regions, after Super Mario World and the first Super Mario All-Stars. This game (as well as the manual) can only be obtained in a bundle with the SNES. The game has Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and, of course, the newly added Super Mario World.
This game is pretty much like the first Super Mario All-Stars but has Super Mario World in it. (maybe a few changes here and there) There are a few differences with Super Mario World, however. The one main difference is Luigi. In the newer version of Super Mario World, Luigi looks a little different than he did in the first Super Mario World. (Luigi looked like Mario with green clothes) In this new version, Luigi is taller and skinnier than Marioandruns slightly different. Luigi also folds his arms for his victory pose. (instead of the traditional 2 fingered peace sign like he used in the earlier version and the victory pose his brother Mario uses) Luigi does not hold his fist in the air while jumping and he slides down hills on his knees. In this version, Luigi has a few differences that broke away from him and Mario being exactly identical. People, however, did not like the way Luigi was made or how he did things and was very criticized. Another of the differences was that there were 4 save files instead of 3, and that the Nintendo logo did not appear in the beginning. Another difference is that Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (a.k.a. the Japanese-only Super Mario Bros. 2) on the game selection screen changed the release date from 1986 to "Unreleased in the USA/Europe" (depending upon region version of this game), as the game itself was released only in Japan, due to the severe difficulties for Western gamers. Also, the title screen changed the background from blue to orange, the linoleum from blue-and-white to pink-and-white, and added in Yoshi and moved Birdo a couple feet down from Yoshi and set her sitting down on the floor instead of standing.
