The premise of the game is that the player is the tail gunner of a large space ship. Enemy spacecrafts are approaching the vessel for attack, and the player must aim a set of [[Reticle|crosshair]]s and shoot the enemies before they slip past the player's cannons. In addition to shooting down the enemy ships, the player is also given limited use of a shield that can block ships from passing. The game ends when ten ships slip past the player's cannon. ==External links== *[http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10012 KLOV's entry for Tail Gunner] *[http://www.arcade-history.com/?n=tail-gunner&page=detail&id=2813 Arcade History page on Tail Gunner] *[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4hb9UJBs9k YouTube video of Tail Gunner gameplay]
