The Twilight Forest is a mod that creates a new Dimension. It is mainly covered by forests, and creates a fairytale-esque world. Forests grow densely, shadowing most of the world below. However, the terrain is quite flat despite numerous Trees and Tall Grass; however these may lower the visibility of an area, thus causing great inconvenience to players. The Twilight Forest abandons the traditional Day/Night cycle; standard Minecraft hostile mobs should not be generated in darkness unless there are spawners.
This mod provides an excellent experience of adventure and treasure hunting. New items, blocks and mobs are added in this mod. Players can explore different wonders and structures, which may hide treasures and bosses. Dungeons, caves and hollow hills also appear frequently in this world.
To make a portal to the Twilight Forest, make a 2 x 2 shallow pool (4 squares) of water in a grassy area, and surround it entirely with "natural" blocks, for example, Flowers, Mushrooms, Saplings or Tall Grass. Then throw a Diamond in (with the "Q" key, by default) and stand well back.
If players do not stand back, it will cause them 2.5 hearts of damage because of the explosion caused by the portal forming. When the portal is formed, players can travel to and from the Overworld and the Twilight Forest without penalty. However, it is recommended that you protect the portal from destruction, otherwise another diamond is required to build a portal, which can be costly. Also, picking the natural blocks around the portal back up again will not make the portal de-spawn.
