Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is the 7th game the 7 years of the Tony Hawk series. It tells the story of a runaway skater who arrives in Los Angeles, where skating was made famous. THAW focuses primarily on telling a story, and moves away from the Jackass-inspired story of Tony Hawk's Underground 2. The game technically allows players to skate through an open ended version of Los Angeles with no load times, but with corridors connecting each area. Rather than using a loading screen, the next area is loaded while you skate through these corridors.
The Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS version is significantly different, and is renamed Tony Hawk's American Sk8land.
