StarCraft II cost $100 million to make

According to Wall Street Journal, the budget of StarCraft II, the three-part sequel to Blizzard's popular RTS, the first part of which, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty premieres on July 27.

According to the report, the $100 million was just the development cost, and it did not include marketing budget.

"There is no shortage of consumers for StarCraft," said Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. "For a game that is more than ten years old, there's millions of people still playing it.
