Many of you may not be aware of the fact that a movie, based off Uncharted, is in the early stages of being developed. Originally it was supposed to be written and directed by David O. Russell, but if that was still the case, the movie would've been set for financial disaster: His adaption had almost nothing similar to the game. Fans of the game would be very displeased, and a displeased fan is a massive setback for anything.
O. Russell's version was supposed to follow the story of “a crime family that metes out justice in the world of art and antiquities”. The idea was scrapped, and Russell left the project due to “creative differences”. Neil Burger, writer and director of films such as Limitless was chosen by the producers to replace O. Russel.
Hopefully Burger can create a film just as pleasing to fans of the series as the original game.
