Steve Lacey, a former Microsoft Game Studios developer who headed titles such as the Flight Simulator franchise and the underappreciated Crimson Skies, was killed two days ago by a drunk driver in Kirkland, Washington. He was just 43 years old.
The drunk driver had apparently tried to hit a different car in a fit of road rage but missed, and hit Lacey's vehicle instead. The 56-year-old suspect survived and is being held at King County Jail. It was later found that his blood-alcohol content was four times the federal legal limit at the scene of the crime.
