Last week, I went to the Xbox Spring Showcase. It is an event where many developers show off the new games and add-ons that they are working on for the coming year. After having experienced all of the games on display, here's my list of the top ten games that I am most looking forward to. If you see a game on the list that you are excited about, let me know in the comments!
10Forza 4 car pack will feature ten all new cars. The one I'm most looking forward to driving is the 1966 Ford Country Squire! I can only imagine the paint jobs that people are going to have for this car.
The new Gears of War III Map Pack, called Forces of Nature, will include five new maps, four new characters, seven new skins, a new "Elemental Cleaver" weapon, and the return of the Guardian gametype.
8Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City's Nemesis Mode looks very promising. It is an Xbox 360 exclusive title where players fight to take control of the Nemesis. It is very fast-paced and exciting.
Fable: The Journey could be very interesting depending on how it turns out. There is a lot of promise with an all-Kinect control scheme, but there is also a lot of risk involved as well. We'll just have to wait to see the outcome of this unique game.
Darksiders II, the sequel to Darksiders, was on display and it looked crisp. Expect big things from the game starring Death, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive looks to be like an updated version of the classic first-person-shooter. With improved graphics and new maps, this game could be one that keeps people coming back for years, like all of the other Counter Strike games before it.
Star Wars Kinect is pretty awesome. I only got some hands-on time with the Podracing segment (Is it really hands-on if I didn't touch anything?) but the other modes looked awesome as well. This should be lots of fun when it gets released.
3Halo 4 is one of the most anticipated games in a long time, and the scenes we saw look amazing. The developers didn't reveal too much, but there were some trailers and info regarding multi-player that looks more than interesting.
2Fable Heroes looks like a great hybrid of LittleBigPlanet and Castle Crashers with some Mario Party thrown in for good measure. It will feature both online and local co-op with drop-in and drop-out gameplay. It is going to be an XBLA exclusive with tons of content.
Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor was the game that I was most impressed with at the Spring Showcase. It uses both the Kinect and a normal controller to operate the game. I have never seen motion controls that have felt so well implemented in a game, and it gives me hope for what could be coming next.
