E3 2013 formally began today and with a bang! The Expo Floor opened this afternoon around noon, spanning across two large halls in different areas of the convention center. Sony and Microsoft's booths were packed full of game demos and presentations of Xbox One and Playstation 4. Major developers such as Ubisoft, Capcom, and Konami had booths packed with plenty to see. We did plenty of laps around the expo floors, taking pictures of all the cool booth layouts. Check out the gallery below!
Some of the highlights included...
Capcom's Dead Rising 3 booth, which was crafted to look like a wrecked safe-house. An area in front of the booth was sectioned off by chain linked fence, and behind it? Zombies! Zombie actors dressed in full makeup hobbled along, groaning and reaching out to passerby! The Ace Attorney booth was quirky as well, formatted exactly like a court room.
Nintendo's booth this year was packed full of amazing photo opportunities. There were elaborate backdrops where attendees could pose with their favorite Nintendo characters. Many of them were themed after the upcoming games on the Wii U, including Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario 3D World.
The racing games of Gran Turismo and Forza managed to snag some pretty elaborate looking cars. The Forza booth showed off an amazing, bright orange McLaren P1, while the Gran Turismo booth showed off a sleek, black Corvette.
The Square Enix booth did had a fun event with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, where attendees were able to form large teams of various classes and fight against a large group boss. Ifrit was the challenge, and if teams were able to conquer him, then they received an exclusive t-shirt! It definitely wasn't easy!
