Do you hear that? It's millions of game importers cheering in their native tounges around the world in joy as it turns out the PlayStation Vita will follow in its predecessor's and the PS3's footsteps and not be locked by region.

Speaking with the press at E3 yesterday, Sony Worldwide Studios Europe VP Michael Denny said, as far as he knows, the PlayStation Vita will be region free.

If you've ever wanted to play a game from Japan that you know would never make be made available in the US, then you know how important this news is. The only "issue" that I can see in the future is being able to download PlayStation Vita games from the PSN of the country it's released in. But you all should already know the trick to jumping over that hurdle, right?
