A report from Engadget has ousted what kind of goods are under the Wii U's hood and they sure are impressive. The Wii U will be using a Radeon GPU that is similar to the R770 which can be found in last-gen cards such as the 4890. When you take a look at what the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have been capable of doing with GPUs that are five years old, then we can finally start to believe the Wii U will be a powerhouse of a console. It's also believed the Wii U will support Dirext X 10.1 as well as technology to allow for up to four SD video streams. Does that mean the Wii U will in fact be able to support four Wii U controllers?
As excited as I am about hearing more about the Wii U, it's only a matter of time until both Microsoft and Sony reveal their next generation consoles, which will make Nintendo last place in terms of its graphics compared to the new Microsoft and Sony consoles. I'm just hoping the Wii U doesn't collect as much dust as my Wii has been for the past year or so.
