Are there any rules about creating character articles? (like how major do they have to be)

Not any that I know of, but I'd suggest adding only characters that have some significance to the plot as individual articles. If needed, the remainder can be placed in a list article.

What are the categories that need to be added to game box images as I lan to upload a few for the Spyro games.

Box art categories are of the form [[Category:(System name) box art]] (eg. a PlayStation game cover would have the category [[Category:PlayStation box art]]. The list of categories for box art that currently exist is at Category:Box art.

If you want, images related to Spyro can also be added to the Spyro images category (you can look at Category:Images by game series for some examples of what that might look like).

Also, do pages get deleted if they have no references?
