A warrior can be described as a person who fights valiantly with or without allies. Warriors will help the weak, and protect the injured in battle. Warriors typically use swords/shields and can either be on foot, or on a mount. Warriors spar with fellow Warriors, in order to practice their combat skills. Warrior is a common character class in RPGs and are often a selectable class.

In EverQuest II

The subtype of Fighter is Warrior. A Warrior has two possible choices, Guardian, or Berserker. Guardians protect allies, while Berserkers deal out damage.

In World of Warcraft

In World of Warcraft, every race can be a Warrior. Warriors build up Rage by using standard attacks, and with the built up rage, can unleash devastating attacks. Warriors can be either be a tank [a role that protects the other characters from damage] or dish out major damage [DPS, or damage-per-second]. Warriors, at level 10, can pick from 3 specs: Arms, Fury, or Protection. Arms Warriors can use 2-H weapons in each hand, and can deal great damage using them. Fury Warriors wield two 1-H weapons for faster damage. Protection Warriors use a 1-H weapon and a shield, + increased armor/taunting abilities.
