[edit] Introduction

Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, administrators can access a few additional functions:

Deleting and undeleting pages, page histories, and uploaded files.
Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without admin rights.
Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits.
Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins.

A bureaucrat can make other users into bureaucrats or administrators on their own wiki. He or she is not able to remove bureaucrat access from any user; please contact one of the community staff if you need that done.

Some Wikia staff members have full access to all Wikia. They will be shown in Special:Listusers/staff on any wiki. Please see the Central Wikia contact page for details on how to contact Wikia staff.

[edit] Who are this wiki's administrators?

The "founder" of a wiki, the person who first requested it, is given administrator access automatically. Founders are also given bureaucrat access so they can make any other user on their wiki an administrator or bureaucrat. [edit] Becoming an administrator

For you to become an administrator, someone with bureaucrat/staff access must make you one. On larger Wikia, there will usually be a community page for requests; on this wiki, it's "Wikia Gaming:Admin_nominations". On a smaller wiki, you may simply ask on the community portal or forum, or ask a bureaucrat directly on his or her talk page.

[edit] What can administrators not do?

Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be use to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community.

Playing Power Forward at a towering 8'4", AlphaTwo is a titan among mortals, who's trademark "Double-pump windmill fake out" slam dunk sends waves of fear across the court. Averaging 45 points a game, AlphaTwo is an MVP amongst the administrative team. Off the court, he is known for his genorosity to kittens, and saving of countries.

Playing Shooting Guard at 5'7", Evisruc is known for his controversial hijinks on the court, such as setting the enemy players on fire. Back from a 2 year suspension from the league, Evisruc is determined to reclaim the glory he had in his '88-'89 season. Off the court, he is known to turn into Captain Marvel by saying the name of the wizard Shazam.

Finally, playing Center at an estimated 3,284 feet, The Achernar. The Achernar is easily the biggest superstar of the line up, and has a much feared game of ball. You may remember the incident in 1994 where 5 opponents and a referee were mysteriously teleported into an infinite void during the game due to The Achernar. Word has it that, due to his awesome power, The Achernar must be restrained in a titanium holding cell surrounded by a moat of lava when not playing ball. Officials assure us that this is for our protection.
