Founded by Peter Adkinson in 1990 just outside Seattle, Washington. Wizards was originally envisioned to be a producer of generic RPG modules. The company found massive success when Richard Garfield asked them to publish Magic: The Gathering in 1993, and in turn creating the collectible card game. Wizards of the Coast is currently owned by Hasbro and publishes numerous products, the most notable being Dungeons & Dragons.
