Stub 2D fighting video games are defined by having a player choose a character and then fight against another character, controlled by either a computer or another player. The fighting in this genre takes place on 2D plane while both characters perform special attacks to try and drain the health bar of the opposing character. 2D Fighting games have helped established many players in the arcade scene, especially with games such as the Street Fighter, and the Mortal Kombat series. Eventually with the arcade scene on the rise from the fighting games, companies such as SNK, or Neo Geo had introduced the King of Fighter series. Genres
